The Valencian company seeks to capture other Spanish companies in the agrifood sector, which will obtain up to 65% of subsidy, to implement their R & D projects
The Valencian company Aquactiva Solutions he has joined the EcoFood2023 project to present his innovative initiative to the call for the Agro-Food PERTE to receive the much anticipated European funds Next Generation. In the project it wants to capture other companies from the food sector, which will get a subsidy up to 65% to implement your R & D projects and propose efficient, sustainable and innovative technologies such as Aquactiva membrane electrolysis disinfection.
Aquactiva Solutions offers environmentally friendly, cost-effective and non-toxic technology in post-harvest treatments, suitable forreduces to 56% losses products during storage and reduction of up to 25% of pesticide residues as has already been shown in a fruit export company.
The Aquactiva technology produces in-situ, only based on water and salt, a highly efficient disinfectant, based on hypochloric acid, totally safe and very low cost that has demonstrated its high efficiency in increase useful life, eliminate perchlorates and reduce pesticide residues in the food and post-harvest sector. In this sense, the superiority of disinfection with Aquactiva has been shown in the face of the current treatment (sodium hypochlorite), both for the reduction of Listeria and for aerobics. Another significant improvement is the validation of the disinfection targets with a lower contact time (5 min, instead of 10 min. initially), which allows to double production capacity of the machine responsible for the washing of fruits and vegetables.
In addition, it has been proved that they can completely eliminate perchlorates and reduce to 20 times residues in chlorates of washing water, compared to sodium hypochlorite. This represents an important achievement in order to be able to comply with European regulations (EU) 2020/685 and (EU) 2020/749, respectively, in order to give all the security possible to the importers of vegetables and fruits, thus avoiding what happened on February 2 when the German authorities (The RASFF) reported a “serious alert” for high levels of perch in Spanish lettuce.
EcoFood2023
In particular, the EcoFood2023 initiative proposes to work on 41 coordinated projects covering almost all nine value chains for the sector such as winemaking, beverages, fruits and vegetables, meat products, sweets, dairy, bacons and fishing activities.
R & D & I projects will allow new technologies for areas such as food traceability, environmental protection or energy-saving measures with the aim of modernizing the sector through innovation in the value chain, digital transition and ecological transition, as well as including training actions for employees.
