We are now moving into an era where almost all of us are getting health conscious. Most of my friends have quit smoking while others are on diets; these are important habits if we are looking at leading healthy lives. In order to increase your life span and to be healthy you need to live a life that is devoid of vices and stress.

There are a few measures that each and every person can take in order to live healthy and be strong. I believe in the mantra: Moderation is the key to a healthy life. True to its meaning; living a life where you do everything in moderation will help you to be active and live a life devoid of diseases and illnesses.

Healthy eating

Most of us snack on unhealthy foods; though indulging in these occasionally does not cause any harm, one must avoid binging on unhealthy snacks. A diet that is based on a healthy serving of fresh fruits and vegetables and a healthy serving of lean meats will keep you healthy all year through. Ensure that your diet is rich in fiber, protein and carbohydrates and low in sodium and refined sugar. Starch gives a sluggish feeling and slows down the senses and hence must be avoided. Sleep is important

It is crucial to let your body rest for 5 to 6 hours in the day in order to let in rejuvenate and relax. In order to get quality sleep you must prevent light in any form from entering into your room when you sleep. If you have disturbed sleep then you may experience sluggishness and fatigue during the day; this has a negative impact on your physical and mental health.

Exercise regularly

It is extremely important to exercise regularly in order to stay healthy and fit. Exercising regularly increases ones stamina and strength and builds and tones muscles and hence keeps on fit. Walk for a few minutes daily or go for a swim; these are easy ways to give your body the required amount of strain that it needs.
