A food allergy is the unexpected response of the body after the consumption of that food. Certain kinds of food may cause a person to have allergic reactions. Food allergy symptoms differ from one to another depending upon the kind of food or the body’s ability to adjust to that food.

A food allergy happens when the body’s immunity refers to a protein as a harmful substance. The digested fragments of protein are tagged as Immunoglobulin E. These tags confuse the immune system of the body into misidentifying the undigested fragments of proteins as harmful substances.
