How to Avoid Dehydration

With the onset of summer and the mercury rising it is important that we make sure that we consume plenty of liquids to keep the body hydrated. As the sun beats down on the earth there is a lot of moisture that gets sucked up causing the air to get hot and humid. This results in us feeling sticky and uncomfortable. As the perspiration from our body steadily evaporates it causes a lot of moisture to get drained from the body as well. This also leaves the skin dry and lifeless. During the summer season there is an outbreak in skin related diseases due to this and skin eczemas are found commonly among people. There are a few things that we can do to help prevent this from happening.

It is important as suggested earlier to make sure that adequate amounts of liquids are consumed. There is no substitute for common water however in today’s day and age we would prefer something a little more tangy and refreshing. There are quite a few options available though I must advise stay away from aerated beverages as they would only do your body more harm than good.

During summers there are a lot of fruits which are easily available. Fruits also contain fructose which helps in the development of health bones and muscles. Watermelons, muskmelons, sweet limes, mangoes etc can be had whole. They can also be juiced and if you prefer can be had refrigerated or with ice or just plain. A little black salt sprinkled on it also helps bring out the flavor and provides the extra punch.

It is important to keep the temperature of the body low and curds and buttermilk help tremendously in performing this for you. Drink as much water as possible as frequently as possible as this helps to rejuvenate the body quickly and also gets absorbed by the body faster.
