Good dental health is when you have a perfect set of teeth. These teeth do not show signs of discoloration, have no cavities and your gums are healthy and do not show any signs of swelling or bleeding. Not all of us are fortunate to have healthy teeth and getting the perfect set of teeth is not a difficult task.

One must ensure that they brush their teeth regularly. Brushing you teeth first thing in the morning helps to get rid of the bacteria that coat the teeth during the night. You must also brush your teeth before going to bed at night in order to ensure that there is not food stuck in between your teeth. While brushing your teeth you must pay attention to the teeth that are at the back of your mouth as they do most of the work while chewing your food and hence are at greater risk of decays. You must floss after every meal to make sure that there are no food particles stuck in between your teeth.

Tomato juice, tea, coffee and red wine have a lasting impact on your teeth. They cause wide scale damage to your teeth by causing stains on the tooth enamel. If you do consume these beverages then you must rinse your mouth immediately after so that you prevent the stains from forming on your teeth. Another preventive measure is to use a straw to drink these beverages. You must also take care not to drink or eat any foods that are too hot or too cold. These cause damage to the roots of the teeth and can lead to loss of the tooth.

If you are a smoker then you must take care and quit this habit. The nicotine deposits on the tooth and this cause black stains. This is almost impossible to get rid off. Not only does smoking spoil your teeth but it also causes havoc on your general health.

In order to maintain the health of your teeth; you must eat a diet that is rich in calcium. This helps to strengthen your teeth and whiten it naturally.
