The Gipuzkoa School of Nursing yesterday delivered its aid to the investigation. In addition, it has created a specific Research Advisory with the aim of enhancing research and the translation of scientific evidence into the professional field of the Guinean nursing

The headquarters of the Gipuzkoa School of Nursing hosted yesterday afternoon delivery of your aids to the investigation which, in its first edition and with a strength of 5,000 euros, have been delivered to six research projects currently developed by Guinean nurses.

It was also submitted the new COEGI Research Advisory which is born with the objective of providing support and professional guidance to all nurses who work in Gipuzkoa and who want to start in the world of research; a particularly relevant support in the initial moments and in the case of new researchers. With this new Research Advisory they will have a near and accessible resource.

Since the COEGI, her president, Pilar Lekuona, stressed that although significant progress has been made in the nurse investigation, “there is still a long way to go.” Includes that research in Nursing is the main source of knowledge generation, “to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and security of care for citizens. Promoting research contributes to improving the practice of our profession and we understand it from the College, so we have created the new advice and specific annual aids aimed at it.”

Lekuona recalls that in many cases, nurses find it difficult to get into research projects and calls for increased support from organizations and the Administration to the nurse investigation. “More time and resources would be needed to investigate. The Nursery—and the care it provides—is a profession based on research and scientific evidence and, for this and more, research work is needed, especially in the area of assistance,” he says.

Projects “drinks”
The projects that yesterday received the first Aids to the Research of COEGI are related to the area of Nursing and aim to improve the care or other educational and management aspects related to the profession. The selection of projects has been particularly appreciated if the main researcher is a nurse and the majority presence of Nursing in the research team has been essential.

The selected projects have been:

“Evaluation of the effect of the Bizia-Active Peaceful program on the level of activation, quality of life and the needs of cancer survivors.” Lourdes Ochoa de Retana.

“Building capacity for health promotion in a local government: an intervention study from a nurse perspective.” Naia Hernantes.

“Indicators of satisfaction of students in Nursing in the Practicum that they develop in the gerontological centers of Gipuzkoa”. Maider Ugartemendia.

“Ariketa fisikoa pertsona nagusien egoitzetan hauskortasuna eta menpekotasunari aurre egiteko ariketa fisikoko interbentzio baten ondorengo balorazio fisiko, psikoafektibo, kliniko eta nutrizionala”. Nagore Arizaga.

“Analysis of negative stereotypes towards old age in university students and older persons. Study of the impact of educational interventions on stereotypes of ageing.” Janire Virgala.

“Analysis of the experience in childbirth in the hospital setting.” Beatriz Pereda.
