In order for pigs raised in organic livestock to follow a proper food program it is necessary to have different feeds formulated to meet the different needs of the animal according to its physiological state

In porcine production it is essential to have clear the idea that it cannot be fed with oneself I think of the animal throughout his life. In the following article, Bifeedoo, a turolean company with a great tour in the world of ecological feeds, exposes the key points in the design of feeding programs for the ecological production of pigs, with ecological feed for pigs.

Two are the principles on which ecological food is based in the porcine sector: prioritizing the raw materials of the area where the farm is located and maximizing the nutrition of the animals.

As for the first basic principle, regarding the priority of the near raw materials, the regulation states that 20% of the food consumed by the pigs must be produced in the same farm where the farm is located or, in its absence, produced by neighboring or nearby farms that guarantee the non-use in the cultivation of chemicals and GMOs (genetically modified organisms). In the case of consuming composite feeds, 20% of the annual tonnage consumed by pigs must correspond to the amount of raw materials cultivated in the same farm whether it is cereals (cebada, wheat, corn), legumes (guisants, soy, alfalfa) or other feed ingredients. For the feed factories, they are responsible and responsible for ensuring and indicating that this 20% ratio is met. Blog sobre productos para la limpieza del hogar

Referred to the nutrition of pigs, these must have covered three different requirements: energy, protein and minerals. Depending on their age, weight and genetics, these nutritional requirements will vary. Therefore, the different stages of the life of the pig require a different type of feeding.

7 different physiological states can be differentiated:

  • Older piglets: from birth to 7 or 10 days after weaning.
  • Older pigs: Up to 25 kilos
  • Growing pig: up to 60-70 kilos
  • Blindlock: Up to 110-115 kilos
  • Heavy pig: More than 110-115 kilos
  • Gestation: Gestation and covering
  • Lactation: From 2 to 3 days after delivery to the weaning of the piglets

In the formulation of feeds and rations, parameters such as energy value (expressed in kilocalories/kg), the raw content in proteins and the contents of each of the main amino acids (expressed in % or g/kg), contained in brute fiber (expressed in % or g/kg) and the contents of calcium and phosphorus (expressed in g/kg).

That is why on the Bifeedoo website you will find different types of feed to follow a balanced diet, with specific feeds for infants, piglets, growth and gestants. Bifeedoo feed can be used in ecological production in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and Regulation (EC) No. 889/ 2008.
