A project in collaboration with Fundación “la Caixa” that has managed to help 30 families, of which 57% are single mothers, reaching a total of 96 people. The effort and constancy of Fundación Got Hogar have made 65 per cent of the beneficiaries enter labour and 43 per cent have been able to carry out job-specific trainings.
Many families have been affected by economic, labour or personal problems as a result of the pandemic. According to Eleventh Arope ReportIn Spain, 11.8 million people (25.3 per cent of the population) are at risk of poverty or social exclusion.
In order to be able to fight one of the main problems facing these families, there are aids and projects that can alleviate these situations to some extent. Fundación Got Hogarwhich helps families with children at risk of social exclusion to regain their autonomy, to be economically independent and thus to be able to integrate again to society, has been selected in the call for Socio-labor insertion of the Fundación “la Caixa”, thanks to your project called Work partner support to improve employabilitywhich has aimed to achieve the overall autonomy and economic stability of families with children at risk of social exclusion.
To achieve this, they were marked as purpose improve their employability, through socio-labor guidance and training, offering them opportunities for stable work through the network of partner companies in Got Hogar. This initiative is now more important than ever to help families who are going through a difficult situation. In large part due to the consequences of the pandemic, families in need of this type of aid are increasingly in need. People who have been affected by loss of employment or housing, jobs linked to the submerged economy, difficulties in dealing with debts or lack of resources, etc.
Of this project, 30 families have been included, of which 57% are single mothers, a factor that increases vulnerability; a total of 96 people (42 children and 54 adults). Thanks to the effort and constancy of Fundación Hay Hogar, 65% of the beneficiaries have been entered at work and 43% have been able to make specific trainings for employment, for example in the administrative, metallurgical and partner sectors.

An integral socio-laboral accompaniment with the person in active job search and all his family
Thanks to this subsidy received by the Fundación ”la Caixa” and the work of Got Hogar, all the beneficiaries of this project participated in group workshops to acquire new competencies: time management, quality and service orientation, digital tools, communication skills, professional image, network of contacts and management of job interviews. In addition, they have been able to have an integral socio-labor accompaniment with the person in active search of employment and his entire family.
“I am a mother of a large family, at the beginning of the pandemic I lived in an attic with my husband and my three children. It's true I've never interrupted my quest to go ahead. Thanks to the support of Fundación Hay Hogar, I have improved my living conditions and my competencies in order to achieve stable employment. Now I work as an administrative officer in an important hospital group, a post that allows me to reconcile family and work life. I can’t be more happy,” highlights Carmen, beneficiary of the project Socio labor support to improve employability.
Fundación Got Hogar performs a comprehensive and demanding intervention reaching work, economic and social life from an ever-family approach. Depending on each case, they focus on placing greater emphasis on the aspect they need to improve, always putting the person as the protagonist of their own change.
“While the emergency situation has diminished, we can still observe the consequences of the pandemic. Although many people have returned to work, that's not enough to go back. Everyone seeks to give their children a better quality of life and we help them achieve it through a comprehensive accompaniment that, in addition to focusing on employability, protects children,” says Maria de Lorenzo, co-founder of Got Hogar. Receiving economic aids such as the one provided by the ”la Caixa” Foundation are those that allow us to continue our work and to be able to offer a future to many of these people who are going through a difficult situation but who have a proactive attitude towards job search and training, as well as a strong commitment to the agreed goals,” concludes Maria de Lorenzo.
