The Hotel Amara Plaza de San Sebastián will host tomorrow, Thursday, 28 November, starting at 17:00 a day organized by the Official College of Nursing of Gipuzkoa (COEGI), with the objective of analyse and discuss the current situation of health care in the school environment of Basque girls and boys, especially for those with chronic pathologies.
Experiences will be shared in the day-to-day and will seek to know the needs of parents and associations of patients, as well as the opinion of the teaching community. This is a meeting with a participatory approach in which attendees will have the opportunity to share their assessments of the current situation of health care in the school environment.
During the meeting, the main pathologies of minors will be analyzed, as well as the resources currently available to educational institutions to care for children with chronic diseases, or the figure of the school nurse, among other things. Ángel número 922 - Significado y Simbolismo
COEGI President Pilar Lekuona emphasizes that the main goal of the day is to analyze what is happening in a school today when a child has a chronic illness. “We want to analyse and share the different experiences and needs regarding health care in the school environment. I mean, put on the table what is done and how we can improve it,” he says.
In addition to mothers/fathers of girls with chronic illnesses and presidents of the Guinean associations of Diabetes, Xabier Amunarriz and Epilepsy, Alfonso López de EtxezarretaThe nurses will attend the meeting: Ma Luz Lamanaof the Commission on Pediatrics of COEGI; KingsSchool health nurse; Amaia Sarasti, Primary Care Nurse and Naiara CayetanoNurse at SUMMA Aldapeta. Teacher and educational staff will also be involved in the colloquium.
The day goes to: Parents and/or mothers with school-aged children, school teachers, associations of Parents, Mothers and Students (AMPAs), patient associations, health professionals interested in health within the school and other professional profiles related to education.
