Dr. John Agwunobi will become CEO, while John DeSimone will assume the presidency in March 2020. These changes will place science, innovation and quality at the head of the company
The Herbalife Nutrition Board of Directors announced that John Agwunobi, co-chair and director of Health and Nutrition, will become the new executive director from March 30, 2020. On the other hand, John DeSimone, co-chair and strategic director, will be the new president of the company.
“With extensive experience as a doctor, public health officer and business leader, Dr. Agwunobi embodies the vision, values and nutritional philosophy of our company,” said Michael Johnson, president of the Board of Directors. “It has been an integral part of our business, from the experiences of customers and distributors to the development of products, and I am sure that it has the vision, skills and experience necessary to bring this great company to the future.”
John Agwunobi (MD, MBA, MPH) joined Herbalife Nutrition as Director of Health and Nutrition in 2016 and was appointed co-chair in 2018. During his management, Dr. Agwunobi with science-backed innovation, quality and nutrition allowed Herbalife Nutrition to strengthen its reputation as a top-level global nutrition company, so its new appointment guarantees the approach that the company has designed.
Dr. Agwunobi also led the efforts of Herbalife Nutrition to expand its portfolio of products and strengthen relations with Independent members and customers, in order to provide better nutrition, healthier lifestyles and a business opportunity for people around the world.

The future new president, John DeSimone, joined Herbalife Nutrition in 2007 as senior vice president of Finance and later as financial director for eight years, before being appointed co-chair and strategic director in 2018. As financial director, DeSimone had the overall responsibility of all financial departments, including accounting, taxes, treasury, strategic planning and investor relations for the company's business worldwide. In addition, he led the group of members of the company.
In his most recent position, he managed regional leadership, an area responsible for growing the nutrition business unit and boosting its functioning in more than 94 countries around the world.
“John DeSimone is a proven leader with an extraordinarily deep knowledge of our business, having spent more than a decade in leadership positions in Herbalife Nutrition.
