  • In order to create a Space-themed bedroom that is truly spectacular, you have to begin by painting, or papering the walls and ceiling. Paint the walls a dull or bright blue color for a small child’s Space-themed bedroom. For an older child, you can paint the walls a deep navy blue, or simply paint just one wall in navy blue, and leave the rest of the walls in white.
  • Paint the ceiling of the bedroom in black or navy blue. Decorate the ceiling with glow-in-the-dark star decals, and use stencils to paint shooting stars, planets and miniature space craft, with glow-in-the-dark paint. Alternatively, you could simply use Space-themed wallpaper with rockets for a small child, or celestial bodies for an older child, to decorate both the walls and the ceiling.
  • Accentuate the Space-theme in your child’s bedroom by, decorating the walls with Space-themed murals, paintings, decals, stickers, and other wall art that feature, stars, flying saucers, rockets, planets, and cute aliens. Put up some nice Space-themed movie posters like, Fly me to the moon and Space Chimps for a small child, and Star Wars or Star Trek for an older child.
  • Alternatively, you can put up white or blue framed photographs of UFOs, favourite Astronauts, etc. You can also paint the lighting fixtures in blue or white, to complement the rest of the décor. You can put up some blue or white curtains that go with the Space-theme. Using stencils and glow-in-the-dark paint, you can paint rocket and star motifs on the curtains.
  • You can use navy blue carpeting, and Space-themed rugs with rockets, to decorate the floor. The next step in creating a Space-themed bedroom is, choosing furniture that goes with the theme. For a small child, a bed in the shape of a rocket ship or flying saucer would be ideal.
  • You could add very dim, red lights to the flying saucer’s rim, which will add a realistic Space-themed look to the room, and at the same time serve as dim nightlights for a small child. Alternatively, you can simply use ordinary furniture by painting them in a color that matches the rest of the décor.
  • You can also purchase Space-themed bed linen, or paint a colorful rocket ship on a plain and bright blue bedspread, using stencils if you cannot draw free hand. For an older child, you can purchase bedspreads that feature stars, or create your own Space-themed bed linen by, painting stars and planets on a navy blue bedspread.
  • Choose a study table and chair, wardrobe, chest of drawers, toy chest, and bookshelf that match with the rest of the Space-themed décor. While creating a Space-themed bedroom, you can also use accessories like telescopes, hanging models of rocket ships, space shuttles and UFOs, etc, to emphasize the Space theme.
