  • For painting a room you will first need to assemble a host of materials. Choosing the best brushes will ensure that your task is relatively simple. Trim and sash brushes with pencil handles, wide and heavy beaver tail brushes and rollers of all size make your painting quite easy. Apart from this you will need paint cans, fine grit sandpaper and sanding mask. For using the rollers you will require a roller tray. A low tack painter’s tape, plastic sheathing, step stool and a wet rag are some of the other materials you need to paint a room.
  • If your room is large, then it is a good idea to use an airless sprayer. This tool uses a hydraulic pump that runs on electricity. This pump in turn moves the paint from the bucket into the tube and through the hose and the spray gun. Maintain the spray gun at a distance of six inches from the wall. Keeping the gun parallel to the wall, paint three foot horizontal strips at a time.
  • Before you start painting, prep the room by removing all the movable furniture or draping them. The wall plates and the light fixtures also need to be removed. Once you are done with this wash the surfaces that you need to paint with warm water and detergent to remove the dirt and the smoke that can settle on wet paint.
  • A previous paint job that is peeling or cracked needs to be scraped to remove the lose particles and then sand the area to ensure smooth blending. Use a masking tape to protect the door and window trims along with lining of other built in furniture.
  • When painting the room, you will need around three coats of paint, one coat of primer and around two coats of finish. Paint the entire section of the wall and then stand back and look at the results to check if you have missed any spots. When using a roller start at one end and paint in a zig zag pattern.
  • Paint the ceiling by using rollers with extension handles. Use a wet edge if possible. If you are using fast drying paint then work quickly.
  • Finish off by painting the painting the doors, windows and the baseboards. For the windows use a two inch trim brush. Some people also prefer to paint off the cabinets and the wooden floors as well Accesorios para Jeep
