Komvida, a leading Spanish brand in the production and distribution of kombucha in our country, takes a further step in its international expansion with the start of marketing its product in the markets of the United States and Panama. The Extremadura company intends to export during the first year 250,000 litres of fashion probiotic beverage thanks to the agreement signed with a US distributor.

Initially, the states in which Komvida's kombucha will be distributed will be Florida and New Jersey, although they are already working to expand the agreement to others like California, in order to double the amount of liters exported from the second year. In this way, the founders of the company, Beatriz Magro and Nuria Morales, will put Fregenal de la Sierra, municipality where their products are produced, packaged and labeled, on the map of the kombucha worldwide.

“We have never believed on the borders, and we have always been open to taking Komvida anywhere in the world. This opportunity that has emerged through this American distributor has been a pleasant surprise, but it is something we were prepared for. Although there is more competition in the kombucha market, we rely on our product. At the moment we have not found any other with characteristics and attributes similar to ours,” says Beatriz Magro.

Kombucha de Komvida is currently sold in more than 3,000 establishments in Spain and Portugal. The company also has the focus on the European market, where it has already begun to take the first steps to start its distribution in Eastern Europe, UK, Nordic Countries, France and Germany.

The probiotic drink of the moment
Kombucha is a probiotic drink that is obtained from fermented tea. In its preparation, Komvida uses four ingredients: green tea, spring water, cane sugar and scoby (simbiosis of bacteria and yeasts in charge of the fermentation process). They are added to other 100% natural ingredients that give rise to their six varieties of flavors: Greenvida, Berryvida, Gingervida, Manzana, vanilla and cinnamon, Zanahoria and curcuma, and Kombujito.

The result is a drink of delicate bubbles with low residual sugar content, of excellent taste, source of antioxidants and probiotics very beneficial to health, as shown by different studies and scientific publications.

“Although we grow up as a company we want to continue to have an honest and close relationship with our customers, which for us are the most important. Therefore, quality remains our priority, and that is one of the reasons why we keep manufacturing at home, ensuring that the whole process is sustainable and ethical. To protect the environment we only package in recyclable glass, and all wastes produced during manufacturing are biodegradable,” Magro says.
