New name, new brand and more inclusive strategy. Five free challenges to begin veganism
The International NGO Million Dollar Vegan Vegana Generationmarking a fundamental strategic change that focuses justice, diversity, equality and inclusiveness in its work to achieve a vegan world. This NGO, better known for offering $1 million to Pope Francis – who recently encouraged people to stop eating meat – and the president of the United States to prove veganism, says that the two years coordinating solidarity and food justice projects in 24 countries have led to this change.
The executive director of Generación Vegana, Naomi Hallum, explains: “Million Dollar Vegan started as a campaign flash flash and was not created to last. But as we shared food with different communities around the world, we could see that our name, brand and focus did not resonate universally and did not reflect everything we do and believe. To achieve a vegan world, we must be more open and more welcoming with other communities, while maintaining our characteristic, bold and creative approach. We are ready to unite, break and transform, to help grow this powerful movement and change the world.”
A new strategy to create a vegan world
Generación Vegana plans to significantly increase its production and publication of innovative social media videos. They will publish real stories of human interest and expose the environmental, health and ethical impacts of the livestock industry. Diets, plans and health
They have invited personalities of activism to share their experiences, such as the chef Onna Ferrer – activist for animal liberation and founder of the Natlali Restaurant on colonialism and food in Mexico. Tallulah Lines, researcher, vegan, artist and feminist about the intersectionality of veganism and feminism. To Paulo Aillapán Kolilef, visual artist, cook and Indian Mapuche to discuss the connection between colonialism and veganism. Also to anti-racist social justice defender Christopher “Soul” Eubanks; the activist against fathom Chelsea Lincoln; LGBTQIA+ activist and vegan queen Paul Burgess; and the founder of Vegans for Black Lives Matter, Gwenna Hunter.
To help guide and support people on their vegan journey, Generación Vegana has launched five new free vegan challengeseach adapted to the topics that matter most to the participants. They are available in several languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese Brazilian, French, Italian, Hungarian, Arabic and Hindi), as well as having relevant content for residents of several countries.
