Natural Athlete, a Spanish company specializing in the production and marketing of food products based on natural, healthy and nutritious ingredients, has closed 2019 with an average growth of 33% in its billing. The diversification of its sales channels and its entry into the large surfaces through its agreement with Carrefour has been the main growth factor, which has allowed it to consolidate its presence in the healthy food market.

 

“This past year we have managed to introduce our products as a real option within the great consumption, leaving it a niche brand to reach thousands of homes in Spain. In 2020, our aspiration is to reach 3 million euros of billing and strengthen our presence in Europe, where we already have a stable market in Italy and a residual presence in France, Germany and the UK”, he explains. The company, which is overcoming all its growth goals, plans to reach the point of break even and start being profitable in 2021, so this year will be key to your business. For this reason, ambitious milestones have been marked for this exercise, which go through redoubling its commitment to innovation in product development and opening new markets in some of the main European countries.

“We want to be a benchmark for healthy food, and for this we devote important efforts to product innovation, in order to offer to the market new alternatives not only beneficial to our health, but also tasty and that adapt to the style and pace of life of today’s society,” he says. Currently, the company has about 30 different references, the most demanded being its natural peanut cream (made with roasted peanuts as the only ingredient), the energy bars of different flavors (elaborated only with fruits and nuts rich in nutrients, without cereals and without sugar) and the vegan proteins (high in proteins of plant origin of high biological value and low in carbohydrates).

Sales channels
Natural Athlete has a local in Madrid, located in the area of Goya (Pza. de Manuel Becerra 2), in which besides being able to purchase its products, the visitor can find a 100% healthy dining offer based on natural and organic products, from smoothies and smoothies to bowls and salads, passing by coffees and chocolates to the cup that can be accompanied by varied waffles, gluten free and sugar free. The billing of this establishment has grown by 50% in 2019, channeling 15% of total sales, and the company is currently looking for a new location to open its second physical space throughout this year.

 

As for the rest of the channels of sale, the one that has experienced greater growth last year has been the distribution, through the centers Carrefour and the network of specialized stores (of sports or healthy nutrition, herbalists, some pharmacies, sports shops, etc.), currently representing 50% of the total sales of the company. On the other hand, the online channel, through your own e-commerce and platforms like Amazon (through it sells its products also in Italy), maintains stable growth and represents 35% of total sales.
