New Food Life, www.nuevavida.life (NVA), an initiative that aims to help improve the lives of people after the months of confinement that have passed, starting with better food and the usual practice of physical activity
The Qcom.es Food Forum has hosted the presentation New Food Life (NVA), an initiative whose objective is help improve the lives of people after the months of confinement that have been passed, starting from better feeding and the usual practice of physical activity, among other positive vital actions.
Through information and recommendations for the population of health professionals, New Food Life He wants to help boost good eating and health habits that result in improving the current quality of life of the population. As Dr. Javier Aranceta, chairman of the SENC Scientific Committee and coordinator of NVA, highlighted during the presentation, “this is a collaborative non-profit project that aims to contribute its grain of sand so that society can reclaim the vital state that we all had before the 14th of March.” “To do this, we want to count on the help of all the links in the food sector and the support of science.”
This project is driven by Sociedad Española de Nutrición Comunitaria (SENC), Fundación Española de la Nutrición (FEN), Fundación Española del Corazón (FEC) and Grupo de Gastronomía Científica (GGC) “and it also intends to give recognition to the entire food chain, starting from the primary sector that during the pandemic, but in general it is always responsible for providing food to our homes, but also to the neighborhood shops, the proximity restaurants and all those that make it possible to provide food every day and that even the pandemic have remained invisible to society,” said Dr. Gregorio Varela, president of the FEN.
During the day the “Decalogue for the improvement and maintenance of the nutritional, physical and emotional state of the Spanish population”, which collects ten principles for healthy eating and living habits; as well as an infographic under the title “Steps to follow to improve the nutritional, physical and emotional state of the Spanish population” which includes not only food recommendations, but also purchase councils which promote the consumption of local products produced, acquired in shops that stab for this type of food or consumed in proximity restaurants.
The following round table was attended by Deputy Director-General Promotion of food in Spain, Purification Gonzalez Camacho, who “didesta the need to support national producers at this time so complicated and announced next November a new Spanish Food Campaign in favor of the producers of our country.”
Then Dr. Carlos Macaya, president of the FEC, warned of the “deterior who has suffered the health of the population after confinement, diminishing during these months a year the hope of life that currently has the Spanish population and the need to recover the healthy habits”.
For its part, the food sector was represented at this round table by José Ramón Sempere, president of Mercasa, who stressed that “we have the best food system in the world, with a network of capillary goods that allows to find top quality products on any street of any population.” In the same way, Sempere stressed that “healthy eating habits are promoted in the Mercas network, promoting physical exercise, including organizing popular racing and other sporting activities, with special attention to the younger population.”
At the same time, hospitality and restoration play a crucial role in this challenge, as Beatriz Cecilia, the head of the Spanish Catering Projects, emphasized the need to bring us back to the Mediterranean diet. “It is the hospitality that is providing consumers with that slow and quality cuisine, which we often don’t have time to prepare at home,” said the representative of the hospitality sector.
In this day, which was attended virtually by more than a hundred people, pretends to be the start-up for the initiative New Food Lifewhich can be added to companies, associations or scientific societies that share this vision of health improvement through food.
