/COMUNICAE/

This initiative, which will take place for a week this Christmas, aims to raise awareness among the Spanish population of the importance of working together to save food and help people and families in vulnerable situations. The #YoSalvoGloria campaign contemplates the donation of a food basket for every saved basket. The same value of saved foods will be donated to the Alberto and Elena Cortina Foundations in Madrid and Health Warriors in Barcelona

Phenix; B Certified company, which offers technological solutions to act against waste globally, and Santagloria Coffee & Bakery, the Multimarca Foodbox Restoration Group chain, launch these Christmases an action to unite the fight against food waste and help vulnerable families.

In this sense, both companies are going to launch the solidarity campaign #YoSalvoGloria during the week from 13 to 19 December in the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Palma de Mallorca, with the aim of raising the largest number of food through the baskets that users buy through the App Phenix in Santagloria Coffee & Break, during those days.

Thus, for every basket saved by users through the Phenix app, a food basket will be donated for the same value. The baskets will be donated on December 22 to the Alberto and Elena Cortina Foundation in Madrid, and to the NGO Health Warriors in Barcelona. #YoSalvoGloria brings together the values of solidarity, transparency and innovation Phenix and Santagloria Coffee & Bakery, turning the food saved into donated food.

Phenix, as a B company and united with companies on purpose, is building a more inclusive and sustainable economy for all people and the planet. Very linked to the #TechForGood movement, it reaffirms its desire to include everyone in its fight against waste. In just one year, they have saved more than 2 tons of food and donated 73,000 kilos to charities.

Santagloria Coffe & Bakery is the chain that revolutionized the traditional concept of selling bread in Spain, incorporating tasting (with coffee shop and light meals) with a unique, welcoming and warm positioning. Over the years, the brand has maintained its commitment to three keys that have allowed it to become a leading benchmark in its activity sector: the variety (the widest range of the market), quality and innovation, developing new products, such as the star of its letter: the Glories, mini croissants made of butter and coated from a special syrup whose recipe dates back to 1963.

Jean-Baptiste Boubault, country manager of Phenix Spain, said: “We are leading a global movement to achieve a positive change in people, acting against food waste and hunger. I am excited about this campaign that aims to inspire and mobilize people to act together and get to save the largest number of foods that will be allocated to charities in Madrid and Barcelona.”

According to Reyes Gimenez, Corporate Director of Business of Foodbox, “from 4 years ago we have been working with our franchisees to combat food waste, which is not only a serious social problem, but also environmental. The results achieved so far in our collaboration with Phenix are very positive, so we want to take this initiative one step further this Christmas. The customer of Santagloria Coffee & Bakery is becoming increasingly aware, which encourages us to redouble our commitment to fight against waste and unite this struggle with the help of disadvantaged families.”

Saved food, Donated food
To participate, you only have to save a basket of the nearest Santagloria and share it with the hashtag #YoSalvoGloria. For every basket saved from Santagloria in the Phenix app, another basket will be donated to the Alberto and Elena Cortina Foundation, and Health Warriors. The delivery will be on December 22.

In the words of Elena Cué, president of the Alberto and Elena Cortina Foundation: “The Alberto and Elena Cortina Foundation, through its eco-no-solidarity program, provides daily support to more than 6,500 people in the Madrid Community, allowing families to access a full shopping basket, paying special attention to the various pathologies that our beneficiaries can present, attending special needs such as celiaquia. And preserving the dignity and self-esteem of the people we help. We are very grateful to Phenix and Santagloria for this solidarity action for the benefit of those who need it most and for their invaluable commitment to food waste, a much-needed environmental and social work.” MX Motocross

According to Francesc Terns, president of the Health Warriors association: “We work day after day to end hunger in our streets. The solution starts from awareness, food waste is a reality as a third of what we produce worldwide is wasted. From Health Warriors we want to thank Phenix and Santagloria for thinking about us and continuing to join in the fight against hunger.”

About Health Warriors
It is a non-profit organization formed by people who help people. It was born in March 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. At first, they focused on supporting the health care of the hospitals in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona that were completely collapsed. Thanks to the collaboration of restaurants, companies and individuals, more than 30,000 food rations are distributed. A crisis of this magnitude left a large number of families without resources to access a basic food and that is why they decided to join efforts in this direction as well. At present, they have offered food to about 53,000 families and are many entities to support them. Its main objective is to be able to increase this help week after week. #FoodActivism
