The projects have been chosen from more than 340 specific candidates for the health and welfare sector from more than 50 countries, with 60 per cent of projects of international origin. All selected startups will have the opportunity to make their pitch live in front of the corporations, investors and the leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem linked to the health and well-being sector, which will be gathered in València on 3 and 4 November

South Summit ‘Health’ Wellbeing’ València powered by IE University will address the most disruptive initiatives and the main challenges of the health and well-being sector from innovation and design. Among the confirmed are great names that contribute to shape the entrepreneurial ecosystem such as Teemu Arina, Biohacker; Mario Alonso Puig del Center for Health, Well-Being & Happiness by IE University; Paloma Castellanos de Wayra Madrid; Ignacio Hernández Medrano, founder of Savana & Mendelian; Javier Villamizar de SoftBank, and Aubrey de Grey de SENS Research Foundation.

The meeting will be held in collaboration with the association Startup Valencia with the support of the Conselleria de Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball de la Generalitat Valenciana y la Conselleria d’Innovació, Universities, Ciència i Societat Digital de la Generalitat Valenciana y el Ayuntamiento de València, through València Activa and VLC Tech City, in La Nave

South Summit has released the list of startups that will be present at the end of South Summit ‘Health & Wellbeing’ València powered by IE University. All the selected will have the opportunity to make their pitch live before the corporations, investors and leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem gathered at the meeting, which will take place in València the days 3-4 November.

After a laborious process the 23 most innovative startups in the world have been selected, focusing on the health and well-being sector, ranging from Digital Health projects to those related to AI & Data Driven Healthcare, Robotics & Smart Materials, Wearable Tech, BioTech and Medicine, Food & Nutrition, Human-Centricity, Emotional, Physical, and Social Wellbeing. More than 340 companies have presented themselves to this competition, those registered come from more than 50 countries, with 60% projects of international origin. In particular, 57% has already launched its product and is generating traction, and 47% already has its product on the market. And, half of the projects have at least one woman on the founding team.

The list of finalist startups has been decided by a Committee composed of recognized investors and innovation experts, based on criteria such as the level of innovation, scalability, internal growth potential, investment capacity and the characteristics of the human team that make up each company.

The Valencian capital is going to be the scene of this meeting in which design and innovation are going to have a great role, as drivers to shape the future of health and well-being, a sustainable future with the person at the centre. Great names are added to the meeting that already help shape the entrepreneurial ecosystem and that have confirmed their assistance in this edition, among which are: Teemu Arina, specialist in Human Optimization and Biohacker; Mario Alonso PuigPresident of the Center for Health, Well-Being & Happiness of IE University; Paloma Castellanos, director of Wayra Madrid; Ignacio Hernández Medrano, neurologist and founder of Savana & Mendelian; Javier Villamizar, SoftBank Investment Advisers partner, and Aubrey de Grey, Chief Science Officer of SENS Research Foundation.

With this big bet, South Summit ‘Health’ Wellbeing’ València powered by IE University to be held thanks to the collaboration of the partnership Startup Valencia with the support of Conselleria de Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball de la Generalitat Valenciana and Conselleria d’Innovació, Universities, Ciència i Societat Digital de la Generalitat Valenciana and City of València, through València Activa and VLC Tech City, in alliance with Las Naves, La Marina de València and World Capital of Design 2022among others.
