Smartfooding, the online market place for eco-responsible, vegan and gluten-free food products of Catalan origin, announces its jump to the French market with the purchase of the electronic commerce site Graine de Bonne Santé, specialized for 10 years in the distribution of organic products for infants and young children

This operation has been possible thanks to the second round of financing that the company has closed with 750.000 euros that have been contributed both by the historical investors of Smartfooding as by the entry of new investors, in this case two investment funds and a Norman bank - the Fonds régional Normandie Participations, the Caisse d’Epargne Normandie and the agricultural investment fund Carem Impulse-.

The new capital injection allows the company to accelerate its European development, strengthen its equipment - which has already grown 30% and now count 15 people between France and Spain - and establish its logistics base in Normandy, France, to better meet the needs of its continuously growing customer base. In addition, it will enable them to accelerate their commercial and marketing development, with which they intend to triple their sales this year, both in Spain and in France. The company, which was born three years ago in Barcelona, thus consolidates its position in the national market and gives the leap to the international.

“In the three years we have been working we have seen the good reception of our online supply, and the increase in demand and our user base. Having the opportunity to strengthen our growth, thanks to this injection of capital, and expanding our presence in France, a country we know well, is a great opportunity as a company, which will benefit our customers in both countries. In addition, the integration of Graine de Bonne Santé is the perfect complement for our product range,” says Alexandre Raksanyi, co-founder and CEO of the company. Healthy food for all, whatever your needs are
Smartfooding is born as an online trade specializing in ecological and healthy foods, with special attention to allergen-free products and with a contrasted traceability, thinking especially of people with intolerances or food limitations, such as celiac, allergy to certain components, veganism, etc. It currently has a unique online catalogue of 3,000 carefully analyzed and selected ecological food products, which meet the expectations of a growing number of demanding consumers. Its search engine allows to filter products according to more than 35 food criteria (allergy, intolerance, nutritional values, etc.). Its model consists mainly of a club system (the Club Smartfooding), which allows, in exchange for an annual quota of 49 euros, to obtain permanent discounts of between 15% and 40% on all products of the catalogue. The average savings is 20% to 30% in each purchase, thus ensuring a rapid profitability for regular consumers of organic products or special diets.
