The Herbalife Nutrition Healthy Habits Panel analyzes the lifestyles of the Spanish population in terms of health, food, physical activity and personal care every year. The Spaniards enjoy good cardiovascular health and this is largely due to prevention through supplements such as Omega 3 (17%) or physical exercise (39%), among others. 62.5% of respondents have ever suffered from stress and 52.5% anxiety

The states of physical and mental health are a common concern very recurring among the Spanish population, as is evident from the new edition of the annual Herbalife Nutrition Habits Panel together with the market research company Instituto IO Sondea. One of the conclusions of this study is that Spaniards are very concerned at this time for everything related to health prevention.

They prevent, above all, cardiovascular diseases (60%), stress (82%) and cerebral aging (75%). Tobacco consumption figures are also positive, since only 1 in 4 Spanish smokes (25%), with people with a low level of studies and those with higher incomes who perform this activity most harmful to their health.

Cardiovascular health, at the order of the day
Only 2 out of 10 Spaniards, 17%, do not have good cardiovascular health. This low figure is largely due to prevention. 60% of the Spaniards prevent cardiovascular diseases, either taking a supplement like Omega 3 (17%) or doing physical exercise in a regular way (39%). 22% claims to prevent this type of disease, but does not specify how. Those who claim to have good cardiovascular health are mainly the Spanish surveyed of high social class. On the contrary, it is women and those with low income who, to a greater extent than the rest, do not take any measure to prevent this type of disease.

Socialize, eat healthy and exercise, essential to prevent stress
Currently 3 out of 10 Spaniards suffer stress, and 3 out of 10 do not suffer it now, but have suffered it in the past. Stress and anxiety are part of the daily lives of many people in our country and now more than ever talking about these problems and their consequences, people pay more attention to prevention. Figures indicate that 62.5 per cent of respondents have ever suffered from stress and that 52.5 per cent of them have suffered anxiety. In particular, women and the lower social class are the most likely to suffer from these conditions.

To combat or prevent these problems, respondents claim to practice sport (51%), go out with friends or visit their family (42%), watch TV to disconnect (40%) or eat healthy (34%). In order to prevent stress, women, to a greater extent than men, go out with friends or family, do more relaxed physical exercise and eat healthy and quietly. On the contrary, men prefer high intensity physical exercise.

How to Prevent Brain Aging
At this time, 3 out of 4 Spaniards (75%) prevent brain aging in some way. Whether it is eating fruits and vegetables (58%) or with mental exercises (41%), but the truth is that a balanced diet rich in nuts, blue fish or chocolate can be a good way to care for the brain. Women, in this sense, are the most aware of this health problem, as they are the most cared for, along with those over 55 and residents of the southern part of Spain.
