Feeding and sleep schedules: fundamental for performance
A fundamental aspect of food must be order. Alvarez emphasizes the importance of establishing and/or recovering a defined schedule, especially sleep and meals, and avoiding breaking it as little as possible. “Our body is a machine that works with a series of rhythms marked primarily by our regularity of sleep and, secondaryly, by our meal schedules and our physical activity. Therefore, when we respect those rhythms and keep that schedule whenever possible, our organism works in a more efficient way and is able to achieve greater performance with minimal stress.”

On the contrary, when these rhythms are not respected and a messy life is taken, the performance falls below the possibilities and a stress is generated which, in the medium or long term, leads to an important fatigue situation.

3 quality meals a day
Once a meal routine is established and a breakfast, lunch and dinner schedule is set, the second nutritional objective is to look for these meals to be of quality, to provide the nutrients that the body and the activity it performs need. In this sense, it is important to take into account good consumption of fruits and vegetables as sources of fiber and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), but also to monitor the proper contribution of protein.

“Let us not forget that protein is the most important macronutrient and the only one that is not stored in our organism. In addition, the contribution of protein is associated with greater mental lucidity and a lower tendency to be continuously sprinkling,” explains Álvarez, who adds that not large amounts of protein are needed, but that the contribution is continuous and of quality. In this sense, it should be ensured that in breakfast there is an adequate supply of protein (at least about 15-20gr), either through the consumption of dairy, egg, fish or lean meats; proper hydration, by means of juices, water, milk, smoothies, etc., and a balanced consumption of the rest of nutrients using various food groups: cereals, fruit, nuts, etc. Aparatos de masajes

Light meals and snacks between hours
In addition to not jumping the three main meals of the day - breakfast, food and dinner - Dr. Julian recommends that none of these ingests be too copious, so as to avoid problems of drowsiness and a greater digestive effort that brings less profitability in the use of nutrients. Alvarez bets on light meals and increase the frequency of ingests by combining the principals with others such as snack, lunch. These snacks are affordable and attractive, but they are not usually, much less, nutritious. “When we move, we are more aware that we need to hydrate. However, when we spend a lot of time sitting, like gamers do, we don't realize and hardly drink. Dehydration can affect performance not only physical, but also mental, so it is always advisable to have water or other moisturizing drink at your fingertips.”

Physical exercise, good for body and mind
Contrary to what many think, facing online matches like gamers do and, in particular, a competition as contested as the All-Stars, requires having the maximum concentration and the tension necessary to make quick and accurate movements. In that sense, having a good physical condition brings greater resistance to fatigue and stress of this type of competitions.
