Bonpreu-Esclat, a leader in the industry and in technological innovation projects in retail, retakes to bet on TMM Group - Waapiti in the design and implementation of an interactive tool in the fresh sections of the point of sale, to improve the experience of buying users with allergies or food intolerances.

The application of allergens is mainly designed for supermarkets or food shops that have unpacked food, and to whom the Food Information Legislation compels them to inform their users of the ingredients and allergens.

An essential application for the sector
The creation of this tool is born for three main reasons: the legal one, required by the legislation that compels us to report the allergens of the non-packed products; the technological one, which arises from the need to transform the paper into the digital; and the experiential that comes from the need to innovate and improve the experience at the point of sale.

These three reasons added to others such as the need to differentiate the assortment according to establishment, show the information in several languages, or have the data synced in real time with the database (ERP), prompted Bonpreu-Esclat, together with TMM Group – Waapiti, to design this interactive allergen and ingredient catalog.

How the tool works
The application is divided by sections such as charcutería, quesería, bakery and butcher shop, and the categories of each are shown inside. The customer can select a section and start filtering by the 14 allergens, visualizing the categories and within them the results that do not contain the allergen. Finally, you can consult the tab of each product with detailed information of ingredients. The tool contains different sections of the same establishment, but automatically in each establishment only the available sections and their respective products are displayed.

The application is automatically synchronized with the customer database. For this interactive project, prior integration with the customer data system is essential. “This integration is the one that allows us to synchronize automatic data every time the customer makes a change in their database, so everything is centralized and there are no duplicate data. We facilitate high, low or product modifications, at the same time, that we distribute the items according to the availability in each store,” says Derek Hossack, IT director at Waapiti.

Solution all in one: stability, fluidity and safety
The interactive solution is presented on a professional touchscreen between 16” and 22” with an integrated player. A robust and elegant solution designed to operate 24h, which can be installed vertically or horizontally according to space availability; and is presented on one foot, on a wall or integrated into the furniture.

The reproduction of contents is stable, fluid and safe when it comes to an application that works locally and not from a web browser that shows a website, in addition, in this way we always minimize online data consultation to that critical information such as prices or stock.

All this makes the user experience in this type of solution 100% satisfactory; unlike other non-professional touch solutions that are used to finding very often in establishments.

Interactive data measurement and analysis
All interaction data such as start-up sessions, reference of categories and products are registered on the Waapiti platform. The analysis of this information, crossed with other data such as sales, allows us to draw conversion ratios that will contribute to product sales strategy decisions.

Other integrations
In this type of interactive application you can integrate more features according to the needs of the project, such as: shopping cart where you can print or send by email, existing payment system and sensors, such as barcode reader to read the client card and identify the user, and thus be able to offer a more personalized experience.
