The Congress organized by the National Association of Nursing and Vaccinations (ANENVAC) has been closed this noon in San Sebastian, a city in which since last Wednesday this event has been held under the motto “Active nurse, leading vaccination”.

Oral communication “Vaccination in the patient with hematopoietic progenitor transplantation”, by Carlos Manzano, a nurse of the Extremeño Health Service, unanimously received the award of the III National Congress of Nursing and Vaccinations organized by ANENVAC. Pilar Lekuona, president of the Gipuzkoa School of Nursing – an entity that has sponsored the Congressional Awards – has been responsible for delivering the award during the closing of the Congress.

Similarly, the poster has been unanimously awarded “Effect of the nurse telematic consultation on the active catching of the ACWY-TT antimeningococcal vaccine in children 3 and 6 years of age: comparison with the eye consultation”. This is a work developed by a group of nurses working in Valencia: Mabel Bueno, Ana Calas, Juani Navarro, Juana Motellón and Naiara Picazo.

Both awards have been delivered this noon at the Carlos Santamaría Center of UPV/EHU in San Sebastian during the closing of the III National Congress of Nursing and Vaccinations, organized by the National Association of Nursing and Vaccinations (ANENVAC), in collaboration with the Official College of Nursing of Gipuzkoa (COEGI) and the UPV/EHU School of Medicine and Nursing. Aviation Questions and Answers

Active nurse, leading vaccination” has been the motto of this date, which has brought together the last three days to about 200 health professionals and which has hosted a broad programme of communications, conferences, workshops and round tables in which vaccination has been analyzed from different angles and perspectives with the participation of nurses/relatives.

In today’s day, the “Communication, beyond Literacy in Vaccines” and the “New Challenges in Vaccination: Control of Endemics and Pandemics” have been discussed, and a conference on “Epidemics, Pandemics, Sicknesses and Vaccination” has been held and a special session of “Questions to Experts” has taken place.

Apart from the awards, during the closing of the congress the IV ANENVAC Congress, to be held in Seville in 2023. Congress is closed with a closing conference on “Emotional Management in Nurse Practice”, by Ma Anunciación Jiménez, a specialist in Mental Health and a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Public University of Navarra.

Positive balance

Once the Congress was finished, the chairperson of the Organizing Committee and vice president of ANENVAC, Rosa Sancho, has made a very satisfactory evaluation of the same “because we have been able to address many different aspects that have to do with vaccination.”

Among other issues, he recalled, “we have addressed both vaccines that can be new introductions in the future child vaccination schedule. We have also been able to treat a very important aspect, such as vaccination in the adult population and in the citizenry that is part of risk groups. We have made an assessment of how vaccination has been during the pandemic, which has resulted in a very real, complete and emotional assessment. And, besides, we have talked about the importance of communication in vaccines, and the defense of scientific evidence against those misconceptions that are transmitted in bules.”
