How To Do Fashion

All of us dream of being fashionable! Be it in a school, college or an office, people with a great sense of fashion always command respect. Not only are their opinions heard, but they are also valued. Nonetheless, in our desperation to look like them, we often try to imitate their impeccable dressing sense.

However, most of the times, this turns out to be a disaster! It must be realized that the word ‘fashion’ does not merely mean wearing funky clothes or experimenting with eye-catching hairdos, it also stands for a charm and endearment in your persona. If you too have been looking for a way to make yourself fashionable, here are a few tips to guide you through it.

Difficulty Level

Doing fashion is an immensely easy task. Nonetheless, the job consumes time and patience. You cannot expect to be fashionable suddenly- it would only make you look like a ‘wannabe’. Fashion must come gradually and from within.

Instructions

  • The first thing you need to do is to explore within yourself. Why do you want to be fashionable? Is it because others are better dressed than you are? Or is it because you want to improve your self-esteem? In either case, recognize one fact for sure- Fashion will not come in a day! You need to slowly and gradually groom yourself to be that ultimate fashion diva.
  • Begin with your clothes. Open your wardrobe and see what kind of clothes you generally wear. Now compare them with what you’d like to wear. While doing this, remember that a good dress is only the one which suits your complexion, goes well with your body proportions and makes you feel comfortable. If you are fair-skinned, bright colors would suit you well. If your skin is dark, wear something subtle and plain.
  • Go on to your Accessories now. Select the ones which fit in well with the dress you have chosen for yourself. Pay special attention to footwear. As they say, it is a person’s shoes that reveal a lot about his/her personality.
  • Experiment with your hairstyle. Visit the nearest hair specialist and seek their opinion as to what would best go well with your facial structure. Do not go in for a hairdo just because you saw some celebrity flaunt it. Don a look which agrees with your personality.
  • Skin care forms an essential part of being fashionable. You certainly do not want to be flawlessly dressed while your skin reels under dark circles, acne and wrinkles! Wash your face everyday and cleanse it thoroughly. Remember to use a moisturizer in order to exfoliate your skin.
  • Work on the way you handle people. Being polite and dignified is simply a must. Speak when your opinion is sought. Laugh and interject at the appropriate places and display your mannerisms at their best. Furthermore, try to maintain a subtle distance with everyone so that they remain curious about you- wanting to know you more. This, clubbed with the previous suggestions, is bound to keep the interest in you alive.
  • When you set out to do fashion, be very clear about one thing- You are doing it for yourself and not for showing it off to others! This way you will be more comfortable with yourself. And internal peace undoubtedly is the first step towards being an immaculate fashion icon!
