Miguel Soria, Marketing & PR Manager Iberia de Amway, has been elected as vice president of the Association, replacing her predecessor, Gema Aznar, recently appointed president. The Association of Direct Sales Companies (AVD) has renewed its Board of Directors, which will be chaired over the next two years by Gema Aznar, Director General of Mary Kay, recently appointed. As a main novelty, in the post of Vice President, who until now occupied Aznar, has been appointed Miguel Soria, Marketing & PR Manager Iberia de Amway. President and Vice-President, they will act in turn as spokespersons of the Association.

 

After receiving nominations from all members of the association, the rest of the Board will be composed of 6 members of associate companies: Rafael Fernández (4Life), Mateo Lecocq (Avón), Tara López (Herbalife), Francesc Tormos (Juice Plus), who replaces Joao Costa, Carlos Barroso (Oriflame) and Jordi Marín (Ringana).

The Board of Directors, composed of direct sales companies with a long history in the market and a deep knowledge of the sector, is the executive governing body of the Association that defines the guidelines that mark the activity of the Association and ensures compliance with the initiatives necessary for the defence of the interests of the sector. The new Board is facing the challenge posed by its most important objectives: the approach of AVD to institutions, the momentum of partnership leadership and its conversion into the guide and benchmark of sector transformation and competitiveness. Gema Aznar as president and Miguel Soria from her role as vice president agreed to point out that this Board of Directors is a faithful reflection that partnership is an unbeatable way to improve the development and competitiveness of companies through business cooperation.

 

About the Direct Sales Association
Founded in the 1970s, the Direct Sales Companies Association was established to represent the interests of the sector and of the companies associated with the Public Agencies, Consumer Associations and public opinion. Its main objective is to credit and give prestige to the image of the Direct Sales and, for this purpose, develops active policies with which to give the channel the highest commercial principles existing in the market.

It currently has 21 partner companies that market a wide range of goods and services covering sectors such as cosmetics and personal care, nutrition and well-being, culture, household equipment, clothing and accessories, jewelry, home care, telecommunications, etc., using mainly the Direct Sales system. The direct sale has a business volume of 30,332 million euros a year in the European Union.
